My name is Katie Karr and I have been doing placenta encapsulations since early 2012. I began working with my mother who is a homebirth midwife and expanded my business from there. I work out of the home and have a flexible schedule, which is very helpful when birth is involved!

I was a Certified Veterinary Technician for several years in a surgical practice before returning to college for a Bachelor of Zoology, Health Professional. I then worked as a Histotechnician until I moved to Kansas City and became a stay-at-home mom.

My education and work history have given me a strong background in sterile procedure, tissue preparation, microbiology, and attention to detail. I look forward to using my experience to help you achieve your postpartum goals!

I encapsulate for births at home as well as at both New Birth Company locations and all the local Kansas and Missouri hospitals. These include Shawnee Mission Medical, Overland Park Regional, Menorah Medical, KU Med Center, St. Luke’s Hospital System locations, Research Medical, Truman Medical Center and Truman Lakewood, North Kansas City Hospital, Olathe Medical Center, Centerpoint, Children’s Mercy locations, and several others. Pick up and delivery is included in the Kansas City metro area (KCKS and KCMO), and available farther away for an additional mileage fee (Lawrence, etc). Please contact me if you have any questions about the location where you will be birthing.
